Development of an Emergency Response “Roster”

 In News

In March, GGRA participated in a table-top exercise organized by the SF Department of Emergency Management titled 2015 SF Disaster Feeding Exercise, designed to get representatives from as many government, non-profit and private sector organizations together as possible to think about what their organization or business would do to help in a large scale city-wide emergency.

Representatives from the hospitality industry at the exercise included GGRA, Hotel Council, Off-the-Grid, Sprig, Muchery, and Good Eggs. Following the initial exercise, the GGRA organized and invited this group to meet and discuss internally what our response as an industry could be. Sean O’Mara, Planner at the Department of Emergency Management also participated in our conversation.

Next steps are for each of the groups to organize within their own memberships and vendors a list of businesses that would be willing to be added to a “Roster” that Department of Emergency Response would keep as a community resource to reach out to during an emergency.

If your business is willing to be added to this list or if you would like more information about this plan, please contact Donnalyn Murphy or call 415-781-5350.
