We can all remember what it was like to be new and starting out in the industry. Everyone has to start somewhere, and with a job shadow you can provide San Francisco High School Students, enrolled in hospitality programs, their first glimpse at what it is like to work in a restaurant.
San Francisco Unified School District covers all liability; all you need to do is bring students in the door and provide their first real introduction to the industry you love.
What is a Job Shadow?
A job shadow is just that, students "shadow" a person to observe what their job is all about. The best hospitality job shadows include FOH & BOH opportunities.
How to Participate:
Provide Seniors from George Washington and/or Galileo High Schools, Extended Job Shadows one day a week for two hours a day, February 22 - April 11. Extended Job Shadows give the student a more in-depth look at the workings of the restaurant and a better understanding about what areas might interest them most.
Call (415) 781-5348 ext 2 or email Donnalyn at donnalyn@ggra.org for more information about National Groundhog Day and Extended Job Shadows.
