SF WINE SCHOOL Special Event: Alchemy of European Classics from Brunello to Côte-Rôtie

October 6, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Have you ever wondered, and tried to explain, why a very few wines from certain specific places have achieved international renown? Famed European classics may be made from different grape varieties in varying environments, yet they share traits placing them on a noble pedestal: concentration, balance, dimension and length of flavor, and the ability to improve with bottle aging. A true classic is also unique, an individual expression of a singular place.

Master of Wine Roger Bohmrich has a long history in the fine wine trade and will present an impressive curated selection of celebrated Old World denominations in this seated tasting and seminar.  Join us as we explore the factors that account for their individuality and worldwide reputation, assessing the fine points of terroir and technique which together fashion a bona-fide classic. This side-by-side comparison of ten contrasting, high-quality wines is an exceptional opportunity to confirm – or discover for the first time – the distinctive features of global benchmarks from Champagne, Alsace, Burgundy, the Rhone Valley, Tuscany, Piedmont and the Rioja.

Legendary fine wine importer Frederick Wildman & Sons is providing the following high-quality wines to be presented by Mr. Bohmrich and sampled by seminar attendees:
