The Global Climate Action Summit is coming to San Francisco September 12-14, 2018.

We have partnered with Zero Foodprint to get the community engaged with our restaurants for a Zero Foodprint Dining Week September 10-16.

Minor actions on the local level build to massive shifts on the global level: A restaurant pledges to go carbon neutral for the week of the Climate Summit, through a combination of practical changes and small contributions to environmental projects in the food system

GGRA, ZFP and the Global Climate Action Summit will showcase the participating restaurants to the ~3000 visiting delegates and their respective entourages. The list will also circulate among local food press to promote Bay Area residents’ participation in the climate summit with their choices. The ultimate goal is to drive business to restaurants that are actively improving the environment.

OPTION A: THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD: You fill out a brief survey about your ingredients, energy usage, and operations. This enables the experts at 3Degrees to complete a simplified life cycle assessment of the emissions for your restaurant. Based on the results, we will work with you to set a per cover cost to offset your emissions for the length of the ZeroFoodprint Dining Week. Your deposit of $110 funds your participation, and at the conclusion of the week you will send in the balance that pays for your offsets (most restaurants will fall somewhere between $0.10 and $0.25 per cover). Sign up HERE.

OPTION B: KEEP THE CHANGE: Don’t have time to go through an assessment, but want to fight climate change? With this option, there are no upfront fees or surveys, you just commit to offset your emissions during the ZeroFoodprint Dining Week at $0.50 per cover. This option will cost a bit more in the long run, but if you want to skip the form and send those extra cents to offset more carbon, this could be the option for you. Sign up HERE.
