PG&E - Optimize your Kitchen Hood Ventilation

posted on Monday, Jun 6, 2011

"Optimize your Kitchen Hood Ventilation systems with an Intelli-Hood® retro-fit" Did you know that Ventilation consumes roughly 11% of a restaurants electrical usage? Summer rates started May 1st and optimizing your ventilation/exhaust systems can help off-set some of that cost increase. The Green Vent rebate program can help achieve lower monthly costs during times when it costs the most.

The Intelli-Hood controls will automatically modulate your exhaust and make up air fans based on the amount of heat and smoke produce during your cooking process. These controls can be retrofitted to your existing kitchen hoods and can reduce the cost of running your hoods by as much as 50%.

Install the demand ventilation technology to your existing hoods and save big. The Green Vent program issues rebates to your restaurant based on the horsepower of the motors. There is a set amount of $1,000 per horsepower for restaurants which will significantly cover a large portion of the installation costs. For example, if you have a total of 15 horsepower tied to both the make-up and exhaust fans you would receive $15,000 towards the project in rebates.

This energy efficient technology produces huge annual operation savings thus yielding a quick Return-On-Investment. Please take a look at the link below showing a video how the technology works etc. www.greenventkitchen.com
