The recommendations for the office Mayor, District Attorney and Sherriff of San Francisco are in alphabetical order and do not reflect a ranked preference.

Mayor (unranked):

  • Michela Alioto-Pier
  • David Chiu
  • Ed Lee
District Attorney (unranked):
  • Bill Fazio
  • George Gascon
Sherriff:
  • Chris Cunnie

Ballot Measures:

VOTE YES:

  • Proposition A: School Facilities Bond
San Francisco students deserve safe and up-to-date classrooms. This $531 million General Obligation Bond will enable the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) to complete its upgrade and rehabilitation plan and enable the district to offer better facilities for San Francisco students.
  • Proposition B: Street Repair Bond
The city has underfunded street resurfacing for decades. Prop. B will allow the city to catch-up on needed street repaving, pedestrian and bike improvements and sidewalk repairs without raising property tax rates. Prop. B is the first step in developing a long-term capital program for street and sidewalk maintenance.
  • Proposition C: Pension and Health Benefit Reform (City Plan)
Prop. C is a consensus plan that will save the city $1 billion over the next 10 years. Prop. C will cap benefits, raise the retirement age and increase employee contributions based on a sliding wage schedule. Unlike Prop. D, it will standup to legal challenge. Vote YES on C and NO on D.
  • Proposition E: Amending Initiative Ordinances
Our initiative system is broken and often abused. Prop. E starts us on the road to fixing this problem by allowing limited amendment to legislation placed on the ballot by the mayor or supervisors. The measure does not affect measures placed on the ballot by voter signature.
  • Proposition F: Campaign Consultant Disclosures
Prop. F will update disclosure and reporting requirements for campaign consultants to make them consistent with the city's current requirements for lobbyists.
  • Proposition H (Initiative): Quality Neighborhood Schools for All
A clear school assignment system is a necessary step to keeping families in San Francisco. Prop. H will make it city policy to provide every family with the choice to send their children to a quality neighborhood school, while still providing the opportunity for parents to send their children to schools with language immersion and other specialized programs.

VOTE NO

  • Proposition D: S.F. Pension Reform (Initiative)
While well intentioned, Prop. D may violate state law and void the pension reforms and cost savings in Prop C. The City cannot afford to risk real reform. Vote YES on C and NO on D.
