10/24/11 - Restaurant Safety - Focus Group Needed
posted on Wednesday, Oct 5, 2011
Labor Occupational Health Studies of UC Berkeley (LOHP) is sponsoring a project to identify top worker safety issues found in restaurants. The goal of this project is to develop training materials that health inspectors can use to educate restaurants in the prevention of the top worker safety risks.
GGRA is working with the LOHP to build a focus group of 9-12 restaurant owners and/or managers to participate in a one time two-hour meeting to analyze the most common worker safety issues and how they are successfully handled by restaurants. Participants in the two-hour focus group will receive a $50 Visa Cash Card and one spot in a 2012 Food Safety class courtesy of GGRA.
Helping restaurants to spot the biggest hazards and avoid occupational injury and illness will lead to healthier employees and, ultimately, reduce workers compensation claims.
The Focus Group will meet on Monday, October 24, 2pm to 4pm in the GGRA Conference Room located at 100 Montgomery Street, Suite 1280, San Francisco.
