This survey is an attempt by the Golden Gate Restaurant Association, the San Francisco Committee on Jobs, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, SF Travel, and SPUR to better understand the tax landscape in the City and County of San Francisco. Currently, most business taxes are collected through the city's payroll tax.  This tax is paid by only about 10% of all business establishments in the County. The City and County government has asked the business community for input on how it might alter its method of business taxation. Any changes could involve the modification of, elimination of, or combination of the payroll tax with other business taxes. Your answers to the questions below will help the groups provide information to the City that will help the City Hall meet its budgetary needs while at the same time improving the business climate in San Francisco.
