Do you know about Food Runners?
Food Runners is a nonprofit organization with one mission: to help alleviate hunger and waste as well as build community. They accomplish this through the donations of prepared food from restaurants all over the City. Food Runners will pick up most kitchen prepared food. If you have food to donate, all you have to do is call and they will arrange to pick up your food. It is important to note that all donors of food in San Francisco are protected from legal liability by both state and federal laws.

Two Ways to Donate
1. Call for a Pick up
To donate food in San Francisco, package it and leave a message on 415.929.1866 with the type and amount of food and the name and address or your business. If you call in the morning a volunteer or our truck driver will come that same day. If you call in the afternoon, Food Runners will come the next morning. Any amount of food is welcome.
2. Planned Overage
Participating restaurants provide 1-2 hotel pans of nutritious food (pasta with protein is most common) one day a week on the day of their choice. A Food Runners volunteer picks up the food at the appointed time on the appointed day on a weekly basis. Food Runners will supply foil hotel pans for restaurants participating in the planned overage program.
