 In News has been deeply involved in SB396 (Lara) working to expand the topics covered in the Mandatory Manager Harassment training. They are working with Senator Lara to include LGBT specific topics and include an update to the required posting notices. Transcanwork is already working with the major companies that provide required postings to include the updates. The bill is expected to be signed by the Governor in October and the changes will go into effect January 1.

In the meantime, Inclusivity Certification –  a 1 hour on site training that covers what managers would need to know when hiring and working with trans community covering topics like preferred pronouns, preferred names and dress code. Once a restaurant completes the certification training they will receive a logo to post on their website and on year’s free access to their job posting site.  If you are interested in having your staff take this training, review the TCW Training One Sheet.
